Private Academic setting

We understand that the troubles your daughter has been experiencing may have caused her to get behind in her academic studies. Eastern Appalachian Teen Challenge functions as a private school with the state of Virginia and we provide curriculum that will help your daughter get back on track.  She will engage in studies in English, Mathematics, History, Science as well as Physical Education and Health.  All her biblical and life skills work will serve as elective credit and she will have the opportunity to leave with a full transcript of credits and if possible a high school diploma. Students with individualized education plans or learning disabilities will benefit from the one on one attention our staff tutors can provide as well any remediation she may need. She will learn time management skills and have the accountability to get ahead.

Fun Extracurricular Activities

We take “fun” seriously at Teen Challenge so we include all kinds of recreational activities for your daughter during her tenure to help her remember the little girl she once was before the troubles of life changed her.  Our goal is to teach her how to stop bring self-destructive  and encourage her again the in creative nourishing things of abundant life. In our beautiful setting of the Blue Ridge Mountains we engage in the following activities:

  • Daily free time that could include: arts and crafts, reading, baking, games, music or occasional regulated TV viewing.
  • Outside Activities such as hiking, softball, swimming, and our girls become professional dog petters as we have one golden retriever and one goldendoodle on campus.
  • Special events such as occasional shopping trips, community service events, restaurant outings and a host of holiday events during that special season.
  • Annual Art Retreat- a weeklong event with loads of activities and special speakers all centered around a specific theme.
